I created this PowerPoint for use as a warm-up on Earth Day but it can be easily integrated into any lesson on Earth Day, the Environment, Conservation, etc.
Each slide features original photography and questions to prompt your students into discussing important aspects of protecting the planet.
* Which places in nature do you enjoy?
* What are some of the problems that threaten our environment?
* What can we do to help?
* What are you doing already?
There are numerous applications for this PowerPoint activity. You can make this a collaborative activity by organizing students into small groups or pairs and by having them discuss each question prior to a whole-class discussion.
You may also add a writing element to this activity by having students summarize K-What they knew about the environment before the lesson, L-What they learn during this lesson, and W-What they still want to know about helping the environment.
For differentiation, especially in bilingual classrooms, each slide features questions in English and Spanish.
