Earth Day Craftivity Crowns! Get students thinking about how they can help the Earth with these fun and meaningful paper plate crowns! This craftivity is highly differentiated
to fit the unique needs of your Pre-K, Kindergarten, or 1st graders. After discussing ways to help the planet, have students choose 3 ways they promise to help the Earth. Using the differentiated cards, students will color and/or write about their promise. The promises are then attached to a paper plate to create an Earth Day crown! Students love sharing the ways they plan to help the Earth with their classmates, curious teachers and students in the hallway, and their parents. Each time they share, they reinforce their new learning about ways to help the planet.
I’ve included a variety of leveled cards in this craftivity to ensure you have the perfect fit for each of your unique students. Print the levels that fit your students. Some students can simply discuss their promises and then color the picture above the words, while other students can draw AND write their own promises on the cards.
You can even print them all and challenge students to complete cards of 3 different levels!
4 Differentiated Card Types Included:
1.“I will” promise AND picture (students simply COLOR the cards)
2.“I will” promise WITHOUT picture (students DRAW their own picture to match the promise)
3.Picture with blank handwriting lines (students WRITE their own promise)
4.Blank picture with blank handwriting lines (students WRITE their own promise & DRAW their own picture)
For this Earth Day project, you will need:
Paper plates (the thin, cheap-o ones are best!)
Glue, tape, or scissors
Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
The student pages are black & white for coloring, but I’ve included a color page for you to save time in creating your teacher example.

Great for Earth Day, or any day!
