I use this as a part of our Earth Week activities when we discuss types of pollution. Students will fish for good and bad litter habits. There are 16 fish. 8 with good litter habits and 8 with bad litter habits. They come in color and black and white. There are 2 labeled fish bowls if you want to use them for a sort. I like to put magnets on the back of my fish along with a paper clip on the fish. The fishing pole is a dowel rod with a piece of yarn and large magnet wand. When a fish is caught the student or teacher reads the card and places it under the correct fish bowl
(making a T chart). There are also 2 pages for drawing either a good or bad litter habit in a fish bowl.
Objective: To identify good and bad litter habits/graph the results
Evaluate: Were the students able to identify good and bad litter habits and put the fish on the graph accordingly? (T chart)
Drawing a picture of a good or bad litter habit.
I also like to read the Lorax© during the week. It includes all types of pollution in the story. I have included a page for students to write and illustrate on about what they can do to help the Earth.
