Students can make a positive “footprint” on the world by choosing their own “Green and Groovy” name with this fun Earth Day activity!
Simply copy the month and date name pages for your students and let them find their inner hippies! Students use the month they were born to discover their GROOVY first name and the date they were born will be their GROOVY last name. Once students have determined their GROOVY names, they move on to draw a Polaroid of themselves as their new GROOVY persona. Some examples are Opal Moonbeam, Paisley NatureRings, and Windy LavaLamp! Five different templates are included in this product for students to use to draw themselves GROOVY.
There are also ten different environmental prompts included. Prompts are narrative, expository, argumentative, and persuasive in nature. Students answer prompts and/or create stories about environmental topics. Students can even be silly and incorporate their new GROOVY persona into one of the stories!
Groovy Polaroids and stories/writing make for a great seasonal bulletin board idea! Three bulletin board signs are also included.
