This freebie includes two great activities!
Earth Day graph and sort starts by getting your class outside to help clean up the planet. Head outside and gather all of the litter that you can find, then get back into the classroom and sort it all into the following categories; paper, cans, bottles, broken objects, plastic bags, and food wrappers (you may want to prepare your classroom by handing our gloves and laying down some garbage bags to sort on). After all of the litter has been sorted your students can graph the findings and record how many objects were found in each category.
Save the Planet Tree asks students to design their own “save the planet” tree. They can use symbols or colors that they feel represent conservation and responsible use of resources. Then they are encouraged to write one thing they can do to save the planet.
