Hold an “Earth Orbit Season Party” to create an “appetite for learning!”
Not just for “Earth Day”, you can celebrate each season.
Make an eatable lesson with an “Earth Orbit Cookie”. Students will each make a diagram of earth’s orbit around the sun. They will locate and label the Sun, Equinoxes and the Solstices and will identify the earth’s monthly location during its orbit. They will discuss the various colors found in each season and the animals found and their patterns of behavior. They will then decorate their “Earth Orbit Seasonal Cookie”. Students can locate today’s orbit location and their birth day orbit location.
“After everyone has worked up an appetite for learning offer everyone a “slice of a season”. Also observe which season each one selects!”
