Are you also learning about caring for our planet? Is the curriculum lacking an interactive way to start the discussion? The economic value of renewable resources is questionable? Then start from the basics.
Provide your kiddos a path to find out about the value of natural resources, such as the wind, water, soil, forests, and oil. Engage in the conversation about the advantages and disadvantages of both: renewable and non-renewable natural resources. Look for the ways how students and humanity, in general, can conserve and recycle these natural resources.
This meaningful hands-on activity helps students not only to identify the resources but also classify them as non-renewable or renewable. To make it more fun and exciting for the kids, I found some pictures for kids to understand and visualize the concept better.
This PDF file includes the following:
♦ Seven Steps printable Protecting Earth’s Resources (color version and printer-friendly version are included).
♦ Renewable and non-renewable anchor foldable (color version and printer-friendly version are included).
♦ Instagram-inspired profile’s themed-post printable.
Connect with your students in a way they understand. This set of handouts is also a great hands-on addition for ISN (Interactive Science Notebooks) during the learning of the natural Earth’s resources unit. Use the printables as the classwork assignment, assessment, homework or in a Science center!
