Children love toys, they love the Earth, and they love to make new things out of recyclables. This products allows them to combine all three passions!
In this challenge, your students will create a fun, new toy out of recycled materials. They will be required to consider the storage size of the toy, incorporate force and motion, spend less than $1 on construction, and be able to explain how the toy is used.
This STEM product includes background information on the history of toys, detailed criteria, a design brief for student use, suggested materials, sample writing paper for the How To instructions, teacher tips, an evaluation tool, and suggested literature links.
This year, my district is focused on connecting our learning to our community so my students will be creating toys for outdoor use and inviting the other classes out to play on Earth Day. Can't wait.
