The song teaches children:
"Give to the soil when you plant a seed.
Then, the land will give you what you need...
Care for the land, and if you do,
You know it will give back to you."

Songs are a great way to promote reading success. Use videos for modeled reading and comprehension. Project the full-color version of this song onto a screen/create a poster to use the song as a shared reading activity for emergent readers. Ask more advanced readers to read the black-and-white individual student versions versions independently--with and without the music.
