Your students will love to learn about how to take care of our Earth with this fun game! I like to teach a unit on Earth Day and good ways to keep our planet healthy. Prior to the activity, we talk about good ways to keep how the Earth healthy, and how to recycle different materials. As a whole group, we sort the pictures into categories (good for Earth or bad for Earth ), and then I set it out as a science center activity. I have included a color version and a black and white version, which can be easily printed and colored to look like the color version, as well as a recording sheet to hold your students accountable for their work. There are two sorting mats: Good for Earth and Bad for Earth. The following pictures are also included for sorting:
Good for Earth: riding a bike, turning lights off, plant trees, saving water, recycling, and using reusable grocery bags.
Bad for Earth: driving cars, wasting electricity, wasting paper, wasting water, throwing trash in a trash can, using paper or plastic grocery bags.
I hope you and your students enjoy this sorting game!
