Subtraction Math Centers
(Minuends to 10)
Earth Day Subtraction Math Centers provide fun and inviting math centers for learners to practice subtraction facts. There are 5 subtraction clip card math centers activities in this packet. Each activity has 12 clothespin clip cards and a recording sheet. There is a subtraction fact and a choice of three differences printed on each clothespin clip card. The cards and recording pages have matching Earth Day graphics. The graphics include kids recycling plastic jugs, kids properly disposing of trash, kids holding a model of the earth, a girl with a reusable shopping bag, the earth surrounded by hearts, and the earth surrounded by a reduce reuse recycle symbol. This resource can be used for Earth Day or at any time during the year.
Print, laminate, and cut out the clothespin clip cards. Print the recording sheet that goes with the clothespin clip cards. You will need 12 clothespins for each activity.
Learners clip a clothespin on the correct difference or they can use dry erase markers to circle the correct difference. You may opt to make these cards self-checking by writing the answer on the back or marking a dot on the back at the correct spot.
After selecting the correct difference, learners write the equation and difference on the recording sheet.
Earth Day Subtraction Math Centers help learners develop subtraction fluency and support the Math Common Core Standards for Operations and Algebraic Thinking.
The graphics used in Earth Day Subtraction Math Centers are from My Cute Graphics.
