Your students will learn interesting facts and details about Earth Day while identifying the common core standard of text structure! Students will work cooperatively to “scoot” to information cards and identify signal words. As a group, they will determine if the Earth Day story was structured in a compare/contrast, description, sequence, cause & effect, or problem/solution format. Directly aligned to common core standard RI.4.5, this engaging activity combines social studies and language arts in one single session! Perfect for 3-5th grades!
