Earth Day is April 22, and it's a great opportunity for some fun and important learning for your students!
My students have recently fallen in love with Write the Room. They love playing detective to find the words, and meanwhile they are practicing important literacy and fine motor skills, as well as building their vocabulary! So I decided to make an Earth Day version my students would enjoy, and to share it with you on here as well!
Included with this product is an Earth Day Write the Room sheet you can print out and make copies of, as well as the Write the Room vocabulary cards with color pictures that you can place around your own classroom. No prep required, just print and place!
The ways I differentiate Write the Room in my classroom involve both the sheet and the cards. For some of my students, I may ask them to simply make a check mark or an X next to the word when they find it. Others I may have trace just the first letter of the word, or trace the whole word. For students who are ready for a challenge, I will have them copy the whole word themselves, or even cut the word off the card and have them sound out the word when they find it and then write it themselves.
I hope you and your students enjoy, and please let me know if you have any questions!
