This document includes instructions for a project where each student completes research, gives a presentation, makes a model, and a matching topographic map.
There is a timeline for students to know what will be completed in class each day and a list of landforms from students to choose from. I assign the landforms so I can differenciate by content. For example I give my lower learners something like a mountain which is easy to research and they already know a lot about mountains. My higher level students would get something like an esker which they have no prior knowledge and will need to do intensive research to complete the project.
At the end of the project they present to the class and the students fill out a data sheet to compile all of the information on all of the landforms.
The only thing not included is a lesson on how to make and read topographic maps. I searched online and found one that I liked, but it is not my lesson to share.
