Update...Easier if you have your students buy premade fondant from the baking aisle at the grocery store and bring it in. That leaves more time for the activity.
The fondant is very easy to make-takes less than 5 minutes-and becomes an edible Play-Doh (that tastes good)
3 part lesson plan with opening, work period, and great closing questions/visuals.
Pressure, density, temperature, order of Earth layers, thickness of Earth layers, composition of Earth layers, etc.
Teaches students everything they need to know about Earth Layers and then some. My students loved this activity. It is completely edible which is probably what they like. It isn't healthy (sugar), but it engages them and they learn what they need to learn. :)
Hope you enjoy! Thanks
