This contains multiple labs and engineering design projects that focus on earth processes and how we have learned to adapt to these. The experiments use every day items that model how weathering and erosion occur in every day life. There is also a PowerPoint review, review sheet, and a test that can be edited.
This can also be connected to economics, as when students design buildings to be safe from tsunamis, they have to record the quantities of supplies used and their cost.
Labs include investigations such as:
-How does water mechanically weather rocks?
-How does water cause land to erode?
-How does ice weather rock?
-How does chemical weathering work?
Students will also be walked through engineering design to create an earthquake and/or tsunami safe house.
