I have used these in my room for several years now and in different ways. This year I changed them up a bit. So you will receive the old set and the new set.
The old set has 24 question cads, 24 QR cards, 1 recording sheet, and an answer key. The QR codes in this set, gives the answer and a website to read more.
The new set has 24 question cards, 24 QR research cards, 24 QR answer cards, 4 blank cards, 1 recording sheet, and an answer key. The QR research codes in this set, do NOT give the answers straight out. Students will need to read the information to locate the answers. I love that not only do my students locate all of the answers but they learn so much more. I hang a poster page and let the kids list other facts they learn that are not on the cards. The QR answer cards will give the students the answer with no web links.
QR codes can be read with any smart device and a QR code reader app. We use ipads and android tablets.
I have also included a list of useful websites.
I often tell my students I am sending them on a scavenger hunt. They get super excited every time! This activity is a scavenger hunt to find facts about our planet, Earth. I have included 24 task cards, an answer sheet, an answer key, and 24 QR codes for self checking! I allow my students to use their text books, internet, as well as nonfiction books. I tape the cards to student desks before students arrive in the morning. My students are use to these events, so I just write "Begin your Hunt" on the board. Students then know to grab a pencil and clipboard and begin their research to answer all the questions, or as many as they can before time is up. I love having an activity like this setup the morning I plan to introduce the topic. It gets them thinking and learning before we even start! It also gives those kiddos that need a little extra confidence, time to get answers ready so they can feel confident in raising their hands and sharing their findings!
