Each individual set of flashcards is designed to teach the student the step by step process of interpreting every component of the New York State Earth Science Reference Tables. The New York State Regents exam can contain 30 to 35% reference table questions. Therefore, a student's success on the regents exam is directly related to his or her ability to correctly interpret the information provided in the tables. I have also included some flashcards that are not part of the reference tables- but are useful for other skills the student must learn. The flashcards contain many illustrations, photographs, and sample regents exam test questions.
Although designed with the New York State Reference Tables in mind, teachers in other states can certainly use these flashcards to teach important Earth Science concepts. I have included in the zipped file an Adobe copy of the New York State Earth Science Reference tables. The snapshot tool in Adobe or the Microsoft snipping tool would allow you to copy the diagram to use in your own classroom teaching materials.
These PowerPoint shows are highly animated. This is how the step by step process of interpreting the diagrams is accomplished. The total number of slides does not fully convey the time needed to animated each individual slide. The zipped file contains a total of 1,495 slides. (I did not include the title slides in this count.) If purchased individually the cost would be $134.00. I have set the bundled price at $100.
