This Science Menu is geared towards addressing the rock cycle and other closely related topics.
The menu is composed of a variety of twelve tasks/activities. The choice of tasks include the following: various writing activities linked to vital text features & structures/creating & completing a variety of graphic organizers/designing posters/creating persuasive advertisements/making multiple mini books/using foldables/pet rock art/online research/real life correlations/etc.
**An inspiring way to review for the state science test.
Also included with this menu is a resource page. This page provides students with an instant resource that will guide them through the assembly process and allow them complete the selected tasks. (This page can also be used with multiple other assignments, centers or projects.) Graphic organizers included refer to classifying, compare & contrasting, categorizing, describing, cause/effect, cycling. Mini book assembly provided for a flip book, flap book, wheel, simple foldable, and 8 page single sheet foldable. Although the directions for each of these mini books, it is advised that the teacher introduces each and creates a model/example for the students to see.
To Use: Simply print off the menu page and glue to the front of a folder (I use a piece of 12x18 construction paper folded in half). Depending on the desired end product, I either assign specific activities or let the students have free choice.
