PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

By using the FOCUS close reading format for teaching weather patterns, students will search through the text to learn vocabulary and key concepts. Students will be able to answer how weather patterns are used to identify a region's climate.

Activities in this packet provide consistency and effectiveness for both student's and teachers.

*ThinkBox- After labeling and reading the text independently, students will complete a think box to organize their thoughts. Questions are text dependent and evidence must be cited from the text.

*Unwrapping the text- Students will analyze the text and its text features to complete an engaging activity. By searching and citing the text, students will become more familiar with the content.

*Show- Students may choose from 4 task cards (or you can choose one in advance) to complete a higher level activity to show comprehension of the material. Includes at least 2 writing prompts.

*Stations- (3) to provide additional review of the content
