From No More Boring Science, we give you a set of 10 lessons intended to enhance your students' learning of the constellations. Activities like card games, crosswords, and word searches are included. There is no need for fancy telescopes or expensive software. It is all hands on, student directed, student driven learning. Students first learn about the circumpolar constellations. Then they learn about 30 of the largest, most important constellations in the night sky. Finally, they learn specifically about the winter sky, home to some of the largest, most recognizable constellations. They learn how to easily and quickly spot constellations like Orion, Taurus, Canis Major, and Auriga in the night sky. The perfect tool for any middle school science teacher. For high school teachers, it serves as the perfect introduction to the topic, or can be used as homework for students to start drilling them on their constellations.
