This packet is full of activities for your students to use when you are studying the Earth, space, and planets! It is also aligned to the Common Core.
Math games include:
Making Patterns- Students will use a spinner and space clip art to create patterns!
Blast to 100! - Students attempt to get the closest to 100 in a +1/-1, +10, -10 game!
Before and After Numbers- Students will work on writing numbers that are +1/-1 and +10/-10
Match it Up! -- Students will match numbers to number words and tally marks.
Blasting Up The Number Line!- Students will use their space themed number lines with task cards that tell them how to move forwards and backwards on their number lines.
Rocket Facts- An addition fluency game
Tally Up- A counting game where students will look at a picture, count the number of objects that they see then tally and graph their results. Students will also be asked to manipulate the numbers in number sentences.
Science Activities Include:
Planet Posters! Each planet has their own poster with facts.
Science Flash Cards
I Have/ Who Has My Fact Game
Links to great songs to use while teaching the planets and their facts!
A book for students to complete helping them understand where they are in this world!
An activity idea for how to teach communities, countries, continents and spacial relations.
Space Words: Students will put Space words in ABC Order.
Shades of Meaning Words: Students will read words and put them in order based on their shades of meaning.
The Aliens Have Gone Crazy-- A really fun sight word game.
Parts Of Speech (board game)-- Student will play a game where they have to identify words with their part of speech. (Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives)
Blast Off-- Students will look at picture cards and practice reading, writing and spelling words with blends.
