This amazing tool can be used in multiple ways: as an assessment piece, a study guide, a warm up activity/bell ringer, or homework to name a few.
Learning goal sheets are assigned to my students when we start a unit and as standards are taught they write about what they have learned. There is a column where they self assess using our class rubric, and the night before the "LG" sheet is due they self assess their own knowledge on each topic.
I collect these study guides two days before a unit exam. As I am grading them, I can see where I need to focus my review. We spend the next day reviewing the answers and I can really hit the topics the class did not understand.
There are two formats included in this download. The first contains the standards, a space for students to describe what they learned about each topic, and a self assess column. The second format also includes a space for them to share what they already know about each topic. This can be passed out before you begin a unit to gauge their prior knowledge.
