This performance assessment has been designed to allow students to achieve the goals of the Next Generation Science Standard MS-ESS1-1: Students who demonstrate understanding can develop and use a model of the Earth-sun-moon system to describe the cyclic patterns of lunar phases, eclipse of the sun and moon, and seasons.
This Next Generation Science Standards aligned activity/assessment includes the assembling and use of a physical model of the Earth, sun, and moon to explain the natural phenomena of the moon phases, eclipse, and seasons. Students use the model to identify cause and effect relationships in the phenomena. A booklet is included for students to record their results and answer questions. This designed to be able to glue into an interactive notebook. You also receive a packet version. Keys for both versions are included.
