Product Description
This lesson aligns with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS):
"STANDARD 7 - The Earth
The competent science teacher understands the dynamic nature of the Earth and recognizes that its features and structures result from natural processes. Knowledge Indicators - The competent science teacher:
7A. understands the structure and composition of the Earth's land, water and atmospheric systems.
7C. understands the scope of geologic time and the continuing physical changes of the Earth through time.
7E. analyzes and explains large scale dynamic forces, events, and processes that affect the Earth's land, water and atmospheric systems."

Third lesson in the unit on "Plate Tectonics." This worksheet is a guide to the PowerPoint lesson III and combines the evidence for seafloor spreading and continental drift into one theory - Plate Tectonics.
A class activity (suggested) is included at the end of each Earth/Space lesson.
PowerPoint lessons contain many graphics and links to short videos to further student understanding. Individual slide notes for teachers are also included in the PowerPoints that helps clarify the subject(s) and are based off students most FAQ's.
* All PowerPoint lessons; ActivInspire programs; student note sheets/activities and assessments for this unit can be found under the "Earth/Space Complete Unit VIII Plate Tectonics" zip file folder.
