PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson goes over what a person should do in case of an earthquake. It begins by going over your area's earthquake risk and then transitions to describe the damage that can be caused by earthquakes. Next it introduces students to safety procedures they can use at school or in their home in case of an earthquake. The worksheet follows along with the power point presentation to keep students engaged. The Design A Plan can be completed in the classroom or taken home to work with the student's parents. This lesson is designed for late elementary through intermediate grades.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.5.4 – Students should be able to determine the general meaning and vocabulary words in the relevant text.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.5.7- Students should be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly locate answers to questions on the worksheet while the power point is being presented
