Pairs of students read an earthquake scenario. After reading the short passage, students complete an activity sheet using various situation cards. Situation Cards correspond to 12 different locations students might encounter on a daily basis. These cards can be cut apart and laminated, put into plastic bags and set out at different stations. Once a pair of students completes a sheet for one location and situation, they can move onto a different station. With several locations to choose from and three different situations at each location, students are given the opportunity to think critically about earthquake preparedness and response.
