Earthquakes Interactive Notebook Resources
A great addition to your students' science interactive notebooks! Three great resources that can be used to teach the science behind earthquakes!
1. Earthquakes Guided Notes
(Recommended having a document camera or overhead to share notes with students). Guided notes formatted as a book for students to fold in half & glue in their notebook. Notes cover focus, epicenter, types of waves (P Waves, S Waves, Surface Waves), and how scientists measure earthquakes.
2. Types of Tension 3 flap foldable: covers tension, compression, and shearing.
3. Types of Faults cut & paste: Normal, Reverse, and Strike-Slip Faults. Students cut out the fault pieces along with a description frame and glue them into their notebook. They must label the hanging wall & footwall.
4. 'Suggestions for Use' section that gives possible uses & answers.
Feel free to use these resources as in class independent work, homework, warm up, exit ticket, science stations, etc.!
