The following vocabulary cards could be used as review (in the form of a matching game) for a quiz or test. They could also be used as the quiz or test for the end of a unit about earthquakes for students who benefit from a more visual style of assessment. All of the cards are numbered so that they could be used with the answer sheet. There is also a blank flashcard template so you can add your own definitions, if you would like.
I utilized this resource in several ways. I first used them as flashcards by cutting them only on the horizontal line. Then, once the terms had been reviewed, I cut the definitions away from the vocabulary words on the vertical line. Students could then match the vocabulary words to the pictures and write their answers on the chart on the last page.
I also included a set of flashcards that aren’t numbered in case you want to utilize the cards in a different way.
Vocabulary included in this resource:
primary waves (p-waves)
secondary waves (s-waves)
strike slip fault
