In this file, you will find activities for students pertaining to six of Earth’s Natural Resources: air, water, plants, animals, rocks, and soil.
Pages 3 – 4: Students will create an Earth’s Natural Resources wheel. They will draw and label a resource in each section of the wheel on page 4: air, water, plants, animals, rocks, soil. Then, cut the two circles and assemble both pieces with a brass paper fastener. See teacher examples on page 11.
Page 5: Students will write a riddle for each of the natural resources. The “What am I?” question will be answered by spinning the wheel to the matching number the student indicated on the riddle page.
Pages 6 – 8: You will find the same activity as above, but in a smaller version and one in which students can glue the Earth’s Natural Resources wheel to the riddle page. See teacher examples on page 11.
Page 9: Students will complete the graphic organizer by writing and illustrating six of Earth’s Natural Resources.
Page 10: Students will create an Earth’s Resources foldable. Students will cut on the dotted lines up to the solid line. Then fold each flap over. Students will illustrate each resource on the outside of the flap and write a use for the resource on the inside of the flap.
