Description
Earth’s Place in the Universe Interactive Organizers contains everything you need to create interactive science notebooks for your astronomy unit. This 221 page resource is ALIGNED TO THE NEXT GENERATION MIDDLE SCHOOL EARTH AND SPACE SCIENCE STANDARDS, following sequentially down MS-ESS1. It aligns to many state science standards as well. While intended for grades 6-8, I believe many of these organizers can easily be adapted for students in 4th and 5th grades.
Many of the organizers in this resource are models. Students can actually visualize what is taking place on Earth by moving parts in the organizer. When not in use the pieces simply fold down until the next time the students need them.
The Common Core Students Standards for Grades6-8 Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, & Technical Subjects Writing Standards are addressed in this resource in several ways. Model organizers are followed by “Check for Understanding” pages in which students must explain processes. A mini research project “Create an Alien” and writing tasks “Comparing Celestial Bodies and Planets” are fun ways to engage students in writing projects.
Please download the preview for it includes additional information and a sample activity.
