These Earth-friendly base ten math station activities will help your students practice the Common Core K.NBT.1 standard: Work with numbers 11 – 19 to gain foundations for place value and 1.NBT.2: Understand place value.
There are two different tens and ones spinners for this station activity that each to allow students to create their own numbers between 10 and 29. After they spin to find out how many tens and ones there are, students should make the number using manipulatives. If you don’t have your own, there are ones to print and laminate for students to use. After creating the number with manipulatives, students will write this number in base ten and standard form on a recording sheet that matches the spinner.
