Ready to get started with Easel Activities?

This tutorial will actually walk you and your students through the basic tools and functionality so you can learn as you do! It is updated with the most recent features available in Easel Activities.

Be sure to Open the Activity in Easel

Follow these steps:

  1. Click View 5 Files
  2. Select which tutorial you'd like to use and click "Preview and Assign"

Teacher Tutorial

This tutorial walks Teachers through the process of using an Easel Activity within your instruction. You'll go between the "Edit" mode and the "View as Student" mode. The tutorial provides you opportunities to learn and to practice each of the skills necessary to create Easel Activities, including:

  • Basic creation functionality (select tool, pen tool, text boxes, and answer boxes)
  • Incorporating Audio to support emerging readers
  • Using Movable Pieces for engaging student interaction
  • Using links to assign your students escape rooms, webquests, and choose your own adventure activities
  • Using self-checking components (Self-checking Multiple Choice and Drag and Drop Zones)

Student Tutorials

These tutorials walk students through the process of using an Easel Activity. Each tutorial provides students opportunities to learn and to practice each of the skills necessary to complete Easel Activities, including:

  • The Toolbar (select tool, pen tool, text boxes, shapes, image upload)
  • Playing Audio
  • Using Movable Pieces for engaging student interaction
  • Using links to complete escape rooms, webquests, and choose your own adventure activities
  • Using self-checking components (Self-checking Multiple Choice and Drag and Drop Zones)

This resource contains three different tutorials for different grade ranges to ensure students get the most out of each tool to enhance their learning. Please be sure to assign the appropriate tutorial based on your students' grade level. They are divided into:

  • K-4
  • 5-8
  • 9-12
