These Easter Activities for Middle School students are focused on the Resurrection of Jesus.
In order to help students understand the importance of vivid details and setting, each of the activities in this packet ask students to work more closely with the passages from each of the four Gospels. We've taken the excerpts on the Resurrection of Jesus from each of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
In the first activity, students are asked to highlight various aspects of the passages that show vivid details. This can include words, phrases, or complete sentences. Whatever shows the student what is happening, versus telling what is happening.
The second activity has students go a bit deeper with one of the Gospels they've read. They will answer questions that require them to logically support their claim, as well as reflect on their own faith.
Finally, students will be creating their own storyboard of one of the Gospel accounts. What we love about this particular activity is that students are working incredibly closely with the passage in order to create a visual depiction of Jesus' Resurrection - all meant to help them understand vivid details, setting, and plot.
We hope your students enjoy these activities as you celebrate the Easter season!
