Thank you for purchasing the Easter Basket Fraction Math Activity. This is an engaging and hands-on activity that is a really fun way to practice fractions. It allows students to really visualize and see fractions, helping to really cement their understanding of the concept.
Included in this packet you will find:
- 24 numbered task cards
- Answer key
- Printable Easter basket
- Printable eggs, in both blackline and color
There are several ways in which to use this packet. This activity lends itself well to centers and early finisher work. Students read each task card and fill their basket with the correct number of eggs. The visual answer key easily allows students to self-check as they go.
You can also use this activity several different ways in a whole group setting. For the first way, you’ll need a printed basket and eggs for each child. Read the card aloud and allow the students to fill their baskets with the correct eggs. Afterwards, you or a student can demonstrate the correct number of each egg that should be in the basket.
Another way to use this activity in a whole group setting involves one copy of the basket and the printable eggs. Students will take turns completing one task card before the class. Afterwards, the class can discuss the accuracy of the task card completed.
For a really fun twist on this activity, consider replacing the paper basket and eggs with an actual Easter basket and plastic eggs. It isn’t too expensive and the materials can be re-purposed year after year.
Regardless of how you decide to use the Easter Basket Fraction Math Activity, I am certain it will be a hit in your classroom. Thank you once again for purchasing this packet. I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
