In this practice package, students will have the opportunity to practice or review identifying nouns and action verbs in a fun, seasonal way. You will receive two Easter basket drawings (one labeled NOUNS and one labeled VERBS), four sheets of eggs (two sheets with nouns and two sheets with action verbs sorted by type), and four pages of randomized eggs with the same nouns and verbs for the students to identify and cut out. There are twelve eggs with nouns and twelve eggs with action verbs, as well four blank eggs that may be used for your own words. The baskets and eggs can be cut out and colored. Next, students can sort the eggs, placing the nouns in the basket labeled NOUNS and the actions verbs in the basket labeled VERBS. Also, this would make a great bulletin board display for your classroom to introduce or review nouns and verbs.
As an extension/enrichment activity, students could be asked to use the words correctly in sentences. This would make the activity more challenging as some of the nouns may be used as verbs and some of the verbs may be used as nouns. This could be an interesting springboard activity for a discussion of how the same word may be either a noun or verb depending on the sentence.
