Your students will love completing this Easter-themed book report! After reading a book, students will identify basic story elements (title, author, characters, setting, problem, and solution) as well as "rate" the book with jelly beans. Students will color, cut, and glue the shapes down on a 12 x 18 sheet of pastel-colored construction paper to make a colorful Easter display (note: my class always receives tons of compliments on how cute this project is!)
I assign this book report as homework in my classroom (minus gluing the story elements on the construction paper, which we do together in class), but the entire project could just as easily be completed together in class with a read-aloud book, such as Jan Brett's "The Easter Egg" or "Emma the Easter Fairy" from the Rainbow Fairy chapter book series (both hits with my class).
This product includes the basic story elements, teacher directions, and a note to send home if you choose to assign this project as homework. Enjoy!
