Product Description
Visual perceptual processing is a set of skills we use to gather visual information from our environment. This is done while combining all the assimilated information with other things, such as past experiences, so that we can derive understanding and meaning. This process allows the development of schemes to develop meaning from what we see.

Visual discrimination must be taught just like letters or sounds. Matching games are great activities to teach similarities and differences. Using matching activities involving images promotes visual learning.

Also, the skill of visually discriminating is needed before teaching categorization.

I have developed additional teaching activities which can be used with these fun bunnies. Take a look at the Common Core focuses below.
Common Core Focuses:
Ask children to predict what the book (puzzle) will be about. (RL.1.1, RL.1.4, SL.1.1.a, L.1.1.d)
SL.1.1 Participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about grade 1 (kindergarten) topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups.
SL.1.2 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text read aloud or information presented orally or through other media.
SL.1.4 Describe people, places, things, and events with relevant details, expressing ideas and feelings clearly.
SL.1.2 Recount or describe key ideas or details from a text read aloud or information presented orally or through other media.
SL.1.4 Tell a story or recount an experience with appropriate facts and relevant, descriptive details, speaking audibly in coherent sentences.

***Reading would be impossible without adequate visual discrimination!

*Preschool & Kindergarten: These bunny images are a great way to introduce or review terms connected to reading a story. I have the common core focuses which first graders need and therefore you can adapt your activities to your grade or students’ abilities.

This resource includes the following:
*24 matching puzzles
*Center Sign
*Teaching Ideas
*Bonus egg templates, four to a page, for students to design their own egg with details (personal use)

Enjoy,
