In order to do this activity, each student or group of students needs 3 plastic Easter eggs, this recording sheet, and letters that will fit inside the eggs. You can use plastic or magnet letters, or even on paper. You choose the words you want your students to practice, and put the letters that form those words inside the eggs. The students manipulate the letters inside each egg until they discover the mystery word, then they write it on the line. Children ask me for this game all year! This activity is also good for beginning LOTE learners. For added fun, you can hide the eggs! You can give each student or team a color to look for.
