Get ready to Hop into Language with these 6 Easter themed expressive language activites working on synonyms, antonyms, multiple meaning words, comparing/contrasting, defining words, categories! These games provide a motivating, engaging theme for your students to work on 6 different expressive language tasks. The six Easter themed games include:

1. Cracked Up - addressing synonyms

In this game, you are asked to find as many Easter egg cards as you can. On the bottom of each card is a word that you must provide a synonym for in order to "collect" the card. Watch out for the broken egg, because you will have to put one of your cards back if you find it. Try to find the basket of eggs, which allows you to steal a card from another player. Included in this game is:

* Directions
* 48 Easter egg cards with synonyms
* 8 wild cards
* a blank sheet for you to add your own examples
* Answer Key

2. Jelly Bean Antonyms - addressing antonyms

In this game, you are asked to find as many jelly beans as you can. On the bottom of each card is a word that you must find an antonym for in order to "collect" the card. You can also use these cards as flashcards. If you find a bunch of jelly beans, you get another turn. Hopefully, your parents don't put fruit in your Easter basket, because you will lose a turn if you draw that card. Included in this game is:

* Directions
* 48 jelly bean cards with antonyms
* 8 wild cards
* one blank sheet for you to add your own examples
* Answer Key

3. Bunny Categories- addressing categories

This Easter bunny game may be used to play a game or as flashcards. To play the game, you must draw a card. If you get a bunny card, you must name 2-4 items within the category listed at the bottom of the card. If you do it correctly, you keep the card. If not, you must put the cards back. If you draw the juggling bunny, he drops your eggs, and you must give one of your "bunny" cards to another player. If you draw bunny giving you extra eggs, you get to take a card from another player. The player with the most bunnies at the end wins!

* 8 blank category cards
* 8 wild cards (either lose a card or take a card)

4. Bunny Hop - addressing comparing/contrasting

In this game, your students will take turns selecting cards from a "messy" pile. If they select a Bunny Peep card, the student must compare/contrast the two words on the bottom of the card. If they answer correctly, they can keep the card. If not, they must return the card to the pile.

This activity includes the following:

* Directions
* 32 Marshmallow Bunny Peep cards for comparing/contrasting
* 8 specialty cards
* 8 blank cards for you to add your own pairs

5. Easter Party - addressing how to describe words

Within this game, students are asked to draw a card and must describe the Easter-themed word on the bottom of it using at least 2-3 words/phrases. If they do it correctly, they may keep the card. If not, it goes back in the pile. Wild cards are also included to make the game more fun! Included for this game is:

* Directions
* 32 Easter cards (with Easter words)
* 8 wild cards
* Game Board

6. Pick the Chick - addressing multiple meaning words

For this game, you are trying to catch as many baby chicks as you can. When you catch one, you must name 2 different meanings for the word on the bottom of the card to "catch" it. If you can't, you must put the card back. If you find an Easter chick in your basket, you get another turn. If your chick can't get out of his shell, you lose your next turn.
