Looking for a creative way to share about Jesus and His resurrection this Easter? This Mad Libs style game is a great way to share the Gospel message with kids in a Christian school, Sunday School class, homeschool group, or your neighbors.
This mad libs style game shares the Gospel message of Easter first and then the kids create funny stories about some Easter traditions that people have to celebrate Easter, including dying eggs and going to church.
The Mad Libs starts like this before the game begins:
Easter is a very special holiday. Christians get to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus was a miracle worker, a teacher, and most importantly, He was God. Because of His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection 3 days later, we can live forever with Him in Heaven when we believe in Him. Jesus died so we could live! He loves us so much!
Then, the kids create silly stories using words from various parts of speech to fill in the appropriate category. Kids LOVE these mad lib games! They are always a hit.
The mad libs ends by encouraging the kids to read the Easter story in Mark 14-16.
It's best to play this game in pairs. One person asks his/her partner to name something in the appropriate category (like a noun, verb, or adjective). That person writes down what the other person says in the appropriate blank. When they are finished, they read the story out loud to their friend. Take turns and switch roles so each person gets a chance to be in each role.
Included in this download are 2 pages: one is the story page and the other is the category page to fill in the blanks without seeing the story first. There is a color and low ink version available for this product.
