Product Description
Easter Math Activity: Math Mystery the 'Case of The Rotten Eggs.' NO PREP, just print and go. Students must solve math clues to help them find where the terrible Slimewort is hiding to stop him turning the Easter eggs rotten! Engage and motivate your students to practice a variety of math skills with this fun Mystery!

There is an optional video hook that can be used to introduce this activity. You can view it through the link below:

NEW - Editable Hideouts list added to the packet. This way you can change the location names and alter the mystery outcome. There are also two alternative pre-made lists you can use instead. This is a great option if your students have already done this mystery story before and you need to change the mystery answer.

There are 5 clues to crack to solve the mystery:

Clue 1: Converting Decimals to Fractions
Clue 2: Multiplying Integers
Clue 3: Least Common Multiple
Clue 4: Solve One-Step Equations (with fractions and decimals involved)
Clue 5: Calculating the Mean (Answers are either whole, or decimals to the tenths)

Pack also includes a mystery declaration sheet, answer sheets, elimination guide and awards.

How long will this activity take?
Time to complete will vary anywhere between 30mins - 2 hours or more! It mainly depends on how familiar your students are with the math mystery format, as well as how difficult they find math skills covered in the particular mystery. Please check the math skills outlined in the clues above to help determine suitability for your class. I highly recommend pacing this activity by giving students one clue at a time. Once the whole class has completed a clue, then move on to the next clue either within the same lesson or the next math session. New math content presented? Make a lesson out of it by modeling the math before diving into the clue. I like to say, "we must learn something new before attempting the next clue." There are lots of ways to implement this activity in your classroom, learn more in the blog post link below:
