Three different syntax activities with Easter-themed cards and worksheets!
Pages 3-7 contain sentence cards that need to be combined using a conjunction. Each page contains three pairs of sentences to be combined. Cut out squares and pair them up. Lay a pair on the table and have student read them both. They can then use the conjunctions on page 9 to combine the sentences! Use the blank cards (page 8) to come up with your own sentences! Add another conjunction word that your students need to work on!
Pages 10-12 contain 40 irregular verb ‘eggs’ and 5 ‘SPLAT’ cards that can be used in a variety of ways. The cards can be used as practice for formulating irregular past tense verbs or for having students produce sentences for the present/past tense forms of the verbs. The cards can also be used as a simple game! (Students take turns flipping over cards and producing the irregular past tense form of the verb. Each correct answer is worth 1 point, but if a ‘SPLAT’ card is turned over, that student loses all his/her points and must start over from scratch!)
Pages 13-17 can be used to work on sentence expansion. This can be used in a ton of different ways, depending on your students’ goals! Students can simply be instructed to add more details to the sentence, use a conjunction to add more to the sentence, incorporate adjectives, adverbs, etc! Great for a group of students that are working on different targets!
Pages 18-20 are worksheets that can be used as extra practice or can be sent home as homework.
