The lessons on this group of First Americans include close reading selections covering the history of the eastern woodlands such as: Daily life, customs, spirituality, the first Thanksgiving, and the forced migration of the eastern woodland tribes.

This unit is a great source of informational text for your class. In addition, the final activity allows students to create a diorama pop up book about the first people of the eastern woodlands. This unit incorporates both literacy and social studies.
