Students will gain basic knowledge about the Eastern and Western Indian Wars during the time period of 1813-1890 by completing two internet based worksheets. The Eastern and Western Indian War Webquests use an amazing virtual museum website by Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
The Eastern Indian War Webquest contains 40 questions. The webquest is a great way to introduce or review the key facts about the removal of Native Americans from the Eastern United States. An answer sheet is included for the teacher.
The Western Indian Wear Webquest contains webquest contains forty-six questions and is a great way to introduce or review the key facts and events on Westward Expansion and the American West. An answer sheet is included for the teacher.
My students love examining and reading about the artifacts from the website. I usually use these webquests as a review activity for my students and it takes at least one and sometimes two class periods to finish each webquest. Feel free to modify this activity if needed to fit the needs of your students.
