This is my cartooning book that I have used with my Middle School students for 18 years! Very easy to understand, clear illustratons and fun to use. This book can be used alone or be used as a supplement to my cartooning lesson plan (for the Art Fundementals Folder. Specific Instructions on how I use the book to teach cartooning are in my TPT cartooning lesson plan).
This book is 20 pages. It includes: How to create faces with expressions, cartooning headshapes, eyes, mouths, noses, sideview and front view faces, use of props, hats, how to draw a full body caricature in motion, how to design cartoon hairstyles and related cartooning vocabulary words. A color example visual from my cartooning lesson is also provided with 4 colored cartoon caricature faces and a full body caricature as well. A really easy way to introduce students to basic cartooning. The book can be used 2 ways. Students can have fun creating facial expressions by mixing and matching head shapes and features, or the way I prefer is to encourage students to create their own creative caricatures using my "Line Switch Creative Drawing Method". Customers that buy this book have my permission to reproduce it for educational, classroom use only. When doing so, you might want to color code the sections to make it easier to flip through with students during the lesson. For example, I usually print the Intro and headshape pages yellow, eyes, nose and mouth pages white, hairstyle pages green and the drawing bodies page blue etc.
NOTE: If you are new to teaching cartooning and need information on how to cartoon, you will find that information in my TPT lesson plan called "How to Cartoon!". This cartooning book is a supplement to that lesson plan. I made it a separate product because the file was getting too large.
