Easy Division Word Problem Task Cards--Free Sample
Share

Description

Twelve one-step word problems on task cards. Each page has 4 different problems--not too challenging, but just right for students who need to review or have extended practice grouping for division using basic math facts.

A student response sheet is included that provides enough room to create simple arrays, circle groups of objects, and write a number sentence. An answer sheet has also been provided that shows sample answers, but it is recommended that teachers (or master students) check for accuracy because of the wide variety of possible responses.

The great part about using task cards for review is that all the work is compiled on one piece of paper. Teachers/classroom volunteers can use their judgment about how many problems to review each day, but this is the type of work that can be spread out over many days/weeks. Incorporate these cards into daily review by rotating them; use them as an integral part of mixed review before summative assessments; have groups of students use team problem-solving techniques to encourage math interaction using appropriate topic vocabulary.

If you like this sample, you'll probably want to purchase the full set of 32 task cards (which is really much more than that!). Check it out at my store!

We paired these task cards to play on a simple gameboard. I will purchase the full set so that we have more problems next time I want to use it.

My students worked with partners to solve each problem. They had to show their work on their whiteboards and shared with the class. Good way for me to see levels of understanding!

This bundle provided a fun way to practice division word problems. My students could use manipulatives to build and solve each problem.
