This is the classic Hershey's Hot Fudge Pudding Cake that is so easy and fun! I have made this recipe with students ages 4-19 and it is a hit with all of them.
Excellent practice for measurement and kids love how tactile it is with all the mixing, sprinkling and pouring.
The cake takes less time in a convection oven-just check on it periodically.
The process looks really weird, especially the sprinkled sugar mixture and pouring hot water all over the top without stirring, but just trust it!
When finished, the cake will be on the top and the hot fudge will be in the bottom of the pan. Scoop out the cake part into bowls and then scoop hot fudge on top! Serve with ice cream if desired.
