This is, to my knowledge, the first ever set of differentiated protractors. Inspired by principles of universal design for learning, the set enables all students to have success in angle measurement and creation.
Chunk the information with these 4 clear, understandable steps and be delighted at how easy students find angles when they use the Easy Protractor Series.
• Printable protractors, 6 to a sheet as follows:
Easy 1 - single scale, for right opening angles
Easy 2 - single scale, for left opening angles
EasyRead - dual scale for READING ONLY
EasyPro - as per EasyRead, but with the addition of outer edge markings for students to create their own angles.
• Worksheets for duplex printing - 2 sides each for
Easy 1, Easy 2, EasyRead and EasyPro.
• Challenge sheet at the end which requires deeper thinking, and class discussion should follow.
• My notes on how I have used these protractors with students (pedagogical shift as this new tool enables new teaching approaches), as well as notes on how my new Easy Protractors design increases student understanding and helps them gain confidence as they learn.
These protractors are student-tested and approved. Kids find them simple to use, and a huge step forward in comprehension is taken by everyone who didn't get it with the old ones they'd been using.
Easy Protractors are an excellent aid to student remediation, but come into their own as children's first experience with protractors so they don't get confused at all. One grade 4/5 ESL class questioned why they had ever been given anything else. The Easy Protractors made their learning exactly that: EASY!
Download the PREVIEW to take a look at the beginner protractors, read the notes on design and see one of the worksheets in the pack.
Please note that I do not include measurement answer keys to the worksheets. I believe that we should stay current with our techniques and that means constant practice. So have fun and experience the difference with the Easy Protractors for yourself. You'll be glad you found them.
