Good to know:
I'm always looking for the best way to transition from one song to the next. It's how I get the most out of my students and concepts to flow together seamlessly.
If your following a recorder program and your students have learned Hot Cross Buns
, Gently Sleep
, Merrily We Roll Along
, I'm guessing your students are moving on to "It's Raining, It's Pouring".
Rain, Rain Go Away
is a better song, in my humble opinion, to put in place of "It's Raining, It's Pouring". It introduces the same notes, the timing is easier and doesn't have that pick-up measure. "It's Raining, It's Pouring" is actually better after "Old Macdonald". They have a stronger footing to tackle that pick-up measure.
